Bendigo South West Secondary College will be one of two new colleges built in line with the new Bendigo Education Plan. It will be built to replace the current buildings on the current Kangaroo Flat Secondary College site.
During the building works, the old buildings will be progressively demolished as so normal classes can continue. Unlike Bendigo South East Secondary College, it will not use two campuses during the building works.
For the 2008 school year, an acting principal will be chosen and a permanent principal will be chosen to begin in 2009.
A new uniform will be phased in over two years, 2008\2009 and the new uniform will be worn as of 2010. (2008\2009, children will continue to wear old school's uniform.)
