Chart performance
"Dig In" is one of the most successful songs by Kravitz in the U.S. Apart from reaching Top 40 and peaking at number thirty-one on the Billboard Hot 100, it managed to reach a higher position on Billboard Modern Rock Tracks, peaking at number thirteen.

Music Video
The music video was directed by Samuel Bayer, who also directed Black Velveteen for Kravitz. The video starts with a woman selling advertised-television products such as expensive jewels. Suddenly, there is a signal interference that leads to show Kravitz and his band performance at a floating base in the sea, while they are being surrounded by an helicopter.
Awards
The song was awarded at 2002 Grammy Awards for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance, being the fourth consecutive time that Kravitz wins the mentioned award.
