Misha Markow was the first missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to serve in Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Latvia and Belgium.[citation needed] He also served as a missionary in Germany. Markow joined the LDS Church after hearing Mormonism taught by Jacob Spori and Joseph M. Tanner.
