The BBC has expressed an interest in splitting the United Kingdom into England,Northern Ireland,Scotland,Wales for the Eurovision Song Contest. The idea was brought about to mimic that of other countries who have split in the past. The countries would then all have neighbours this will hopefully setle the issue of the United Kingdom having no neighbours. The countries entries would be able to do tours around the other countries promoting the song and if already succesful in the United Kingdom will encourage people to vote.

Possible Contestants

The BBC had said that they would lke to continue the 'Making Your Mind Up' format with selecting the songs for the countries and might possibly consider splitting into four shows such as 'Make Your Mind Up England'. This would bring it into line with other countries, who for national selection have many shows. The people rumoured to go for representing England in Eurovision 2008 are:

  • Daz Sampson - The United Kingdom entrant for 2006 has said he would like to once again enter Eurovision. He tried to enter in 2007 however the BBC stated that it would be too early for him to try again but may try in 2008.[1]
  • Leona Lewis - During her time on X Factor on the show called the Xtra Factor said she wouldn't mind the chance to represent her country in something to do with music.[2]
  • Cyndi - After narrowly missing the chance to represent the United Kingdom in 2007 Cyndi said she would just have to try again next year.[3]
  • The X Factor Winner 2007 - The BBC has said they would try and persuade whoever one X Factor in 2007 to try and compete in Make Your Mind Up England.[4]
