The Guru is a 2002 comedy movie directed by Daisy von Scherler Mayer. The plot is about a dance teacher, named Ramu (played by Jimi Mistry), leaving his native country India to go to United States and join his friend who is rich and successful. When he arrives, he finds that his friend has lied and that he lives in a flat above a shop with illegals. However he sets out to be a film star and auditions for a role that he gets. However when he finds it's in a porno with actress Sharona (Heather Graham) he can't go through with it despite her good advice on how to do it. Later he is catering at a party featuring a wise old guru, who gets drunk and passes out. Ramu stands in and repeats the wisdom of Sharona, freeing the mind of the posh guests and attracting Lexi (Marisa Tomei) to him. In order to keep the image of him as a sex guru going, he has to get more lessons from Sharona whom he begins to fall for despite using her.
