TIME

I've been told that Time Magazine had a story or a cover story on this subject a while back. I have not been able to find it. If you find it, it will be of great help to strengthen this article to have reputable sources. Thanks. Coolguy1368 11:59 1 September 2006

So the conglomeration of all known races forms a tanned white woman? You learn something new everyday...

I think there are about 1 billion "white" people, 2 billion "yellow" people, 2 billion "red" or "brown" people, and .5 billion "black" people. So that sounds about right to me. Steve Dufour 04:18, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
BTW the lady on Time's cover seems to have mostly Asian features. I don't think she would be seen as white or European. Steve Dufour 14:59, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

World less diverse except White Nations

There should be information in the article on this... The White nations of the world (Europe and their offspring -- American/Can/NZ/AUS/Argentina,etc) are becoming less White than ever with populations declining, where-as Africa, Asia, etc the populations are rising. With that said, Whites will most likely be breed out of existence (despite the fact that they gave the world the majority of the technology in the last thousand years.. where-as Africa didn't have a wheel) so there will be no "race of the future." Blacks, Asians, etc will be more numerous but Whites will be gone. Volksgeist 04:13, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Be Bold. But remember to cite any material, especially controversial materialCoolguy1368 20:42, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
what kind of psudo-science bullsh*t is that? Seriously, that so stupid I don't even know how to respond to that. Human beings have been living together since the dawn of man, you HONESTLY think that were in any more threat of being "extinct" then back then? Wtf?! "whites gave the world the majority of the technology in in the last thousand years-where-as Africa didn't have a wheel"...Your telling me, that in the ENTIRE continent of Africa, no one had a wheel... that statment is retarded beyond words —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.250.130.215 (talkcontribs) .
You mean like China, which invented gunpowder, paper, moveable type, the compass, the loom, and cast iron centuries before Europe? Or did you mean India, where our modern mathematical system was invented, while white people were still using Roman numerals? Or perhaps the Arabs, who created modern algebra and laid the foundations of astronomy while Europe was in the Dark Ages? Or maybe you meant the internal combustion engine, based on the principles created by native Samoans? Oh, that "majority of technology" of the last thousand years. Pale-as-a-ghost Noclevername 20:37, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, the Chinese invented many things independently from Europeans. But Europeans have contributed to a large portion of the inventions shaping the modern world. That is a simple fact. However, I have never heard of the Samoans using outboard motors until the Europeans came along. Got any references for that? Grandpafootsoldier 22:46, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think when it was said africa it meant SUB-SAHARAN Africa. Its irrefutable that every continent had its own advances but European creation is far more extensive than any other. If Europe had a "dark age" it was due to continous internal wars.No other continent had so much war and disease.About the image posted about how race will look like...i think it would aproximatte to something between a south-american and a Sub-saharan african. Most european genes tend to be recessive..that means blue, gree, grey eyes, fair hair, white skin. And because every race has a strong birth rate with the exception of european.

FAC Potential?

Just asking. I know that this article is not even close, but I am asking if this article has the potentiality to become a FAC (Feature Article Candidate)?Coolguy1368 21:11, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Doubt it. In a world that has people like the above "White Nations" guy in it, anything race-based will be too controversial to stay untampered-with long enough to get featured. But don't stop trying! -- Noclevername 02:01, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fairly New

I'm still fairly new to Wikipedia, I added a section with a book citing though i don't know how to add it as a reference. Help would be appreciated. (Practical Idealism, Wien/Leipzig 1925, page 20). Thanks Coolguy1368 11:11, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Huh?

Can anyone explain a little more clearly what the statements under "Criticism" mean?? Noclevername 04:41, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Follow the link to that TIME article and see what you can make of it. Sorry for the later response. Coolguy1368 02:24, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blondes

Can anyone find a reference to use for the former part of this statement? What cultures have considered people with blonde hair and blue eyes as mixed race? As far as I know, blonde hair and blue eyes are extremely rare in mixed race peoples, due to the recessive nature of such characteristics.

"In some parts of the world, the recessive charactaristics of Blonde hair and blue eyes have been regarded in popular culture as signs of that an individual is of mixed race but in some cultures (notably that of Nazi Germany) they have been seen as a sign of racial purity."

I would assume that a jew or southern Italian with blonde hair or blue eyes would be assumed to be mixed.

This whole article is copy-n-pasted from miscegenation. 68.166.64.224 12:28, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I assume that refers to non-white races, such as blacks and Amerindians. If a black person or Amerindian person has blond hair or blue eyes, and is not an albino, he's usually assumed to have some European background and therefore to be mixed race. Grandpafootsoldier 22:44, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mixed Celebrities?

What is the point of this section? I could see if all these people were part black, white, Cherokee, Chinese, Indian, Iranian and Pakistani but what does Rob Shneider being 1/4 Filipino have to do with the "Race of the Future"?

I'm not sure, I think it's supposed to show that multi-race people are more socially accepted than in the past; or maybe it's just that everything these days has to have celebrities involved somehow. Noclevername 10:32, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Language of the future

Wish there was a page that would discuss what language the world will be talking in 500 years. Jidanni 04:00, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do some research and go for it. Please leave me a note on my talk page. It sounds like an interesting topic. Steve Dufour 04:16, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia Removed

I took off the pop culture section. I for one am getting tired of reading about South Park's take on every topic. As for the Doors' opinion, I can't imagine that anyone cares. Steve Dufour 04:16, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Doors

Before the pop culture trivia section was removed, I found this interesting titbit:

The topic was the subject of frequent debate within The Doors, a Californian rock band. Keyboardist Ray Manzarek would espouse the virtues of a future unified "golden" race, while Jim Morrison lamented the dilution of individuality.

No cite for that, but I like it nonetheless.--h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 16:48, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please add it to Jim Morrison's article then. (Or Manzarek's or the Doors'.)  :-) Steve Dufour 19:27, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
