The Hyundai Accent (sold in some regions as the Verna) is a compact car produced in Korea. It replaced the Excel in the company's lineup.

1995

2004 Hyundai Accent

The Hyundai Accent was introduced in the 1995 model year as a replacement for the Excel.

2000

The Accent was updated with a larger body for 2000.

Engines:

  • 1.5 L 12-valve SOHC Alpha I4, 92 hp (69 kW) and 97 ft.lbf (132 Nm)
  • 1.5 L 16-valve DOHC Alpha I4, 101 hp (75 kW) and 98 ft.lbf (133 Nm)
  • 1.6 L 16-valve DOHC Alpha I4, 104 hp (78 kW) and 106 ft.lbf (144 Nm)

2006

Hyundai introduced a new-generation Accent at the 2005 New York International Auto Show. A new exterior, larger interior, and CVVT engine are the notable features. A hybrid version is expected in 2006 as a 2007 model.

  • 1.6 L Theta I4, 110 hp (82 kW) and 107 ft.lbf (145 Nm)

  • Winner Australia's Best Small Car in 2001.
