Saquarema is a town and a municipality located in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro. Its population was 61,591 (2005) and its area is 355 km².[1] It is located one and one-half hours north of Rio de Janeiro. It is known as Brazil's surfing capital.
Tourism Attractions
Itaúna Beach is one of Saquarema's most famous beaches. Stage of professionals championships of Brazil. Other beaches are Barra Nova, Boqueirão, Jaconé, Vilatur and Vila.
