The video centres around a car crash occuring in a park. It features two views of this: one the real-world view in which the occupants of the car are lying dead on the pavement, and the other in which the camera shows them from above. In the second view they mimic actions that people would usually do standing up, while being on the ground in a perpendicular position.


Adele is not one of the car crash victims; instead she is an onlooker.

"Chasing Pavements" is the second single from soul single Adele, released after the limited edition vinyl single Hometown Glory in October 2007. It was released digitally in Ireland on January 13th 2008 and has so far peaked at No.26 on the Irish singles chart, through download sales alone. On 20th January the single entered at number 2 in the UK singles chart on downloads alone.
