Tragedy struck Dave when after his sister Linda's wedding he ended up back at the Queen Vic pub to confirm his plans with Kim to run away. Whilst in James and Summer's room kissing them goodnight Dave unwittingly accidentally dropped a lit match on the carpet in the living room of the flat above the pub, thus causing a massive blaze at the pub. As he and Kim rowed with Frank outside the Vic, they spotted the fire in the bar and Dave ran back into the pub to save both baby James and to save baby Summer, passing them both out but he becoming trapped himself when the staircase collapsed on him as he tried to escape through the back door of the pub to safety and the flames grew bigger and Dave couldn't get out as he was surrounded by both flames and smoke blocking all the exits. By the time the Fire brigade arrived,it was too late. |

David "Dave" Edward Glover was a fictional character in the popular soap opera Emmerdale played by Ian Kelsey.
About Dave
Dave was a farmhand at Home Farm, and began an affair with lady of the manor Kim Tate, despite being in a supposedly happy marriage to cafe owner Kathy Bates. When Kim's husband Frank found the pair in bed together he uttered the now infamous line - "What do you call this Dave - overtime!?". From that moment on, Frank became Dave's sworn enemy.
