Jeff Loomis is the lead guitarist for the heavy metal band, Nevermore. Jeff Loomis can be safely described as being among the most skilled guitarists in metal today, which is usually overlooked in most crowds, besides Nevermore fans. Jeff took up guitar at an early age, and played in various Wisconsin Death Metal bands while growing up. At the age of 16, Loomis' guitar entry won Wisconsin's Guitar Wars contest.

Currently, Jeff plays an important role in portraying the sound that Nevermore is today, his greatest musical influence being in the album Dead Heart in a Dead World. Jeff plays a 7-string guitar.
