Frack is a bowdlerised version of fuck first used in the original Battlestar Galactica series. In the "re-imagined" version it appears with greater frequency and the revised spelling "frak" (the producers wanted to make it a four letter word [1]). In that framework it seems to function as a substitute for "fuck" in several different forms, as an interjection ("Frak!"), inquisitive idiom ("What the frak?"), verb ("You're not still frakking Dualla are you?") or adjective ("Get your motherfrakking hands off me!").
It has recently been referenced numerous times in Dilbert, Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, Robot Chicken, Scrubs, the english dub of Crayon Shin Chan and more recently The OC in the season four episode The My Two Dads. In addition, it has started appearing in Marvel Comics, including World War Hulk: Prologue.
In the First Person Shooter Gaming World for PC's in the Battlefield series, there is a famous player called "MotherFracker".
