Red

RED is an American Christian metal band from Nashville, Tennessee established in 2004. The band's debut album End of Silence was released in 2006, and was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of "Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album" at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards.[1]

The album's first single, "Breathe Into Me," peaked at #15 on the U.S. Mainstream Rock chart and won the "Rock Recorded Song of the Year" award at the 38th annual GMA Dove Awards in 2007.[2]

The band has toured with fellow Christian bands Kutless, Disciple, and Flyleaf as well as with mainstream alternative metal artists, including Three Days Grace, Seether, Breaking Benjamin, Puddle of Mudd, and Sevendust. The band has also made appearances at the Christian teen conference Acquire the Fire.

According to RED's MySpace, they are currently working on a second album.

On November 27, 2007, RED's van and trailer crashed on Interstate 24. There was major damage to the vehicles involved, and Hayden Lamb suffered injuries that forced him to sit out on their headlining tour[3]. RED used a donated drum set in Minnesota and other tour stops not long after the incident.

On January 8, 2008, RED switched record labels from Essential Records to Epic Records (both operated by Sony BMG).
