Remember that odd looking band in the 2006 music video awards. That band is A.F.I, which stands for “A Fire Inside”. The man wearing purple skinny jeans that man right there is Jade Puget. Though to more people he is known as the guitarist, lyricist, keyboardist, synthesizer operator, last but not least the musical producer of A.F.I. Also Jade has a side project with Davey Havok which is the lead vocalist of A.F.I and Blaqk Audio.

On November 28, 1973 Jade was born in Santa Rosa, California. He has one brother, one sister, and a half brother, Smith. Additionally during Jades and Smiths high school years, Smith would help his friends get gigs so they can perform. Now at this moment he is the Official manager of A.F.I. and he help Jades band tour a lot. Its been rumored that he dropped out of high school, but he took the exit exam early and he passed it. After that he graduated in Berkley then he joined A.F.I. in 1998. Most of all not a lot of people know this but as a child he wanted to be a novelist. Now he still is one he is writing a novel right now.
He has a lot of influence in A.F.I. in terms of music for example he wrote songs compose in keyboard and guitar. For instance his first album with A.F.I. was “Black Sails In The Sunset” which was released in 1999. This Album had the first song he ever wrote “Malleus Malcarum”.
After releasing Black Sails In The Sunset. The band A.F.I released an EP album called “All Hollows EP”, which included their singles “Totally Imortal” and “Days of the Phoenix”. In 2000,they released the “Art of the Drowning”, which included the song “But Home Is Nowhere”. In 2003 the band also released another album “Sing the Sorrow” which had the songs “Girls Not Grey”,”Leaving the Song Part II”, and the song “Silver and Cold”. Their most anticipated album was Decemberunderground that was released in 2006.
Their album Decemberunderground had the songs “Miss Murder” and “Love Like Winter”. This album made them gain fans and lost some too. The loss was because of the sound in the album. In the bright sight they gained some for the same reasons.
Incidentally the song “37mm” was supposed to be used for his side project with Davey and Blaqk Audio. Also the beats in the bridge verse of “Love Like Winter” were used in Blaqk Audios song “Semiotic Love” in their album “Cexcells” which was released in 2007.
The albums “Decemberunderground” and “Cexcells” had a tremendous effect on his career as a musician. He became more recognized to fans as well as other artist, such as, Marilyn Manson, Tigor Army, Tokio Hotel, and The Static Age. Some Artists have asked to remix their songs for their albums like “Heart-Shape Glasses”,” When the Heart Guides the Hand”,”Wheres the Moss Slowly Grows”, and “Ready Set Go.” Jade also did some additional producing for the Dear and Departed debut album. Moreover his fans have great respect for him that is why he doesn’t mind going to malls and public. When he is asked about his fans he acknowledges them and he mentions them by name. He also influnce many of his fans an dother bands like Tokio Hotel as well. Jade is one of the successful musicians of our time his fans see him as an approachable person. He doesn’t stay in a house for the whole day he goes out in public too. They also admire him for his sense of humor and some of his know words are “Why Cant the Pancakes and Lemons Get Along?” and “People That Like Ricky Martin Are Going To See Our Latin Songs Titles And Be Like, Yeah, I’ll Buy This.”

Jade has one brother, a sister, and a half brother named Gibson. Gibson appeared on the hidden poem in "...But Home Is Nowhere." Jade's brother Smith Puget acts as AFI's tour manager. Puget attended UC Berkeley and majored in social theory. they say that he quit but he really finished highschool early when he passed the exit exam


He prefers the Les Paul model and has used a number of different [[Gibson Les Paul]] guitars since he joined AFI. Both for live performances and studio recordings. He is also known to be using Gibson SGs occasionally.

Jade Puget

Jade Errol Puget (born November 28, 1973 in Santa Rosa, California) is the guitarist for American rock band AFI, and the keyboardist/synthesizer operator for the electronic duo Blaqk Audio. He takes his stepfather's surname. Puget is a vegetarian, and is straight edge, along with Davey Havok, the vocalist of AFI.
