Mirla Castellanos, born in Venezuela, is one of the most famous and notorious venezuelan singers. She got the title of "La Primerisima" since she was the first venezuelan artist to get international recognition as a great vocal and performing show woman.

In the 60s was requested to have shows and presentations in Spain, Greece and shortly transfered to Italy where she recorded an album with songs from notorious composers at the time (Modugno, Albano,...). Domenico Modugno invited her to take part in a duet for the song "Meraviglioso" to be presented at the Festival San Remo 1968 edition.

singing the song (who wanted to make a duet with her for the 68 San Remo Festival), Albano, etc.

In the late 60s got special awards in two major song festivals in Spain (Benidorm and Mayorca).

She was the first venezuelan singer ever to get a Billboard recognition for the album entitled "Vuelve Pronto (1984)" been in high positions of the ranking in the hispanic radio stations at USA.

Her weird combination of drama and freshness in the performances and shows gave her the chance to take part, almost every year, in musical presentations for the annual contest Miss Venezuela, produced by Joaquin Riviera. The use of expensive costumes and sparkling choreographies were aspects ver well managed by Mirla during the "golden years" of venezuelan TV. At the time, and still, she is realized as an authentic "Diva & Primadonna" in the venezuelan musical scene. She was a real pioner in her genre.

Amongst many success there lots emblematic songs for this venezuela singer, one of them is a very emotional and strong version of a song composed by Alberto Cortez: El Abuelo.

Currently, Mirla Castellanos is a very respected singer with many awards and international recognitions in the spanish speakers countries and markets of "Balada romantica" (romantic and popular hispanic music).
