Sleepaway Camp 2: Unhappy Campers is a 1988 sequel to the movie Sleepaway Camp, written by Fritz Gordon and directed by Michael A. Simpson. It stars Pamela Springsteen, Renée Estevez, and Tony Higgins.

Synopsis

A sequel to the popular cult movie Sleepaway Camp, this film takes place 5 years after the original where the terrible murders that occurred are now a favourite camp story at Camp Rolling Hills. This time around, Angela (now a post-operative transexual) has just been released from a mental hospital due to good behavior and is a counselor at the camp and ready to discipline any of the naughty campers who don't do as she says.(It is mentioned that she was found guilty by reason of insanity and as a result was sent to a mental hospital instead of prison.)

Plot

The film begins with a campfire under a full moon where the campers and their counselor are telling ghost stories. As soon as their counselor, T.C, finishes his story, a female camper (apparently the only one at the site) begins to tell the gruesome tale of the events that happened in the first movie.

However, before she can finish, her counselor, Angela arrives and chastises the girl, Phoebe, from sneaking away from her cabin to be with the boys. Phoebe frustratingly leaves as the oldest male camper, Sean, continues the story.

Meanwhile, in the woods, Angela scolds Phoebe further, saying that she doesn't deserve to be at camp and that she should send her home. Phoebe retaliates disrespectfully, saying "Screw you, Angela!" and storming off deeper into the woods. Angela suddenly sprints off, as if to find a hiding place.

After several minutes, Phoebe becomes lost and calls out to Angela for help. Angela suddenly and unexpectedly appears behind Phoebe with a large stick. Angela swings it and hits Phoebe violently in the head, cracking her skull and puncturing her brain, killing her. Angela then cuts out her tongue for having "such a filthy mouth."

The next day, the camp goes on with its daily activities, despite the apparent disappearance of Phoebe, whom Angela says has been "sent home."
