Automatic Baby is the band that R.E.M. and U2 call themselves when they perform together at live events. The name comes from the two bands, and their most popular albums:
- "Automatic" comes from R.E.M.s 1992 album "Automatic For The People"
- "Baby" comes from U2's 1991 album "Achtung Baby.
Although, there have been no official album releases of any of their performances, a lot of them can be found on Peer 2 Peer networks.
It's not known how many songs Automatic Baby have performed, but two common performances are a version of U2's "One", with Michael Stipe doing vocals, and a cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Who'll Stop The Rain". There are also a lot of other releases, that are a lot rarer to find, such as a version of R.E.M.s "Losing My Religion", with Bono preforming vocals.
