ADSL2 and ADSL2+ are higher speeds then G.Lite ADSL (max 1.5mbps) or ADSL1 (max 8mbps) ADSL2 normal reaches 12Mbps with a upload of 2mbps. ADSL2+ reachers 27Mbps with uploads of 2mbps. This service runs on a copper pair (your phone line) but works on higher signal levels so as not to interfere with normal phone services.
ADSL1 has a max distance from the exchange or central office of 5.6km (about 20000ft) ADSL2 and ADSL2+ have 10km. Please note if you are on a RIM or pair-gains you will not get any ADSL unless a telcom installs a minimux to the rim. With pair-gains you must be taken off pair-gain and placed on a clean copper pair.
