I'm suprised that this is not an article.

Please help me build this article!

Federal or State level

I'm having some trouble here with research, searching on THOMAS with the strain 'Methamphetamine precursor control act' the only bill I find is a house bill which seems to have only been introduced and referred to the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security back in 2005. There was however a bill with the short title of 'methamphetamine precursor control act' passed in Illinois which classified pseudoephedrine etc. as schedule V drugs, which was passed in the state senate with the number 273. That would seem to indicate that this article is confused as to the nature of the Act, it not in fact being at the federal level but at the state level. There are similar laws in other states which restrict the sale of methamphetamine precursors. The Controlled Substances Act article uses similar wording and also suggests that the MPCA was federal, which is why I'm hesitant to change this. (PsychoSmith 03:22, 11 January 2007 (UTC))[reply]

I think you're probably right. Searches for S.R. 273 in the 109th U.S. Congress don't locate any meth legislation. Is this being confused with the Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act of 2005? -Tobogganoggin talk 01:13, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Most likely the article was confused with the Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act of 2005. This is Illinois state law. Thanks for clearing this up. Ishmael Rufus 14:13, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
