The Oklahoma National Basketball Association team are a professional basketball team based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. As the team has not been formally inducted in the National Basketball Association, it is unknown which conference or division they will play in although it is presumed they will replace the Seattle SuperSonics place in the Western Conference's Northwest Division.[citation needed] The basketball club will play their home games at Ford Center for the upcoming 2008-09 NBA season.

The team was established in 2008, coming out of a dispute between owner Clay Bennett and the lawmakers of Seattle, Washington. The two sides reached a settlement and it was decided that Bennett pay $75 million to break a lease to Seattle's KeyArena that extended to 2010 Bennett agreed that the new team would leave the name, logo and colors behind.[1] Months earlier, the NBA board of owners approved the move to Oklahoma City.[2]
