Maternal grandfather - Shwe Kyaung Daga U Kyar, Founder of the Malun Rice Distributing Org. He is also donor of ” Shwe Kyaung Buddhists Monastery” in Sagaing Hills, Sagaing.

(1) In year 1941 Dr. Maung Maung Ta’s Basic education ended at age 15, in the 10th Standard-, St Peter’s English High School in Mandalay when World War ( II ) in Europe spread to Asia and the Japanese invading army pursued the British Army which withdrew to India. In school Sherazee haj is above average in football & Athletics. He earned the title Speed King as the school midgets’ champion.

(2) He joined the Burma Independence Army (BIA) for Burma’s: Independence from British rule- in 1942- joining the Japanese/Myanmar (BIA) troops at Kyaukse with thirty double barrel guns in hand.

1943''Italic text…When Myanmar gained a sham independence from the occupying Japanese Army, He became a civilian attaché, procurement officer within the Arms & Ammunition Department of General Aung San’s War Ministry, in Rangoon, Burma——- under Japanese Army occupation. 1944—First marriage- 18-July 1944 with Hajee Bi Bi, daughter of Mirza Mahmood Ispahany of Ispahan, Iran.

1945- 27th March 1945, Resistance Day. He joins the resistance movement against the Japanese occupation army as General Slim’s 14th Army & Allies advance into Burma in 1945. Rangoon was Liberated by the British Army, on 5th May 1945.

1948……………Burma became an Independent nation on 4th January 1948. Asian Communist Conference in 1948 at Calcutta decided that all Communist forces in all Asian countries should go underground. The Burma Communist Party (BCP) went underground- The Karens with their National Defense Organization (KNDO) also went under ground. Dr Maung Maung Ta joined the post Independence Regular Burma Army on 27-8-1948 as a private soldier, His battalion was sent into military operations at the Insein Front, 12 miles north of Rangoon and became an infantry officer, commissioned in the field, while the capital city Rangoon was in siege.—-After successful victory over KNDO forces at the Insein front. He became Burma Army’s first Military Administrator in the Insein District with the District Commissioner U Tin U—U Aung Chein the DSP, and Dr Wunna, the District Health Officer under military command.

In 1950 Dr. Maung Maung Ta became an Infantry & Staff Captain-Burma Army. He attended the Staff Duty & Admin training at the Burma Army Staff College arranged by the British Services Mission in Burma under Major-General Temple. of the United Kingdom. Maung Maung Ta stood first in the Army Staff College Course Examinations .of 1950 and for the year 1951.
