Retiring from wikipedia
If you have disliked me, there is no need for you to hate me any more. I'm retiring from wikipedia. It's been nice trying to re-work the article for Fires on the Plain, but there's really little I can do for it now. If you want to help, you can re-arrange the themes and reception section as fit for wiki standards. Perhaps saying I've retired is too harsh, and maybe this will just be an extended wikibreak, but more likely I've just left this place for good. If you see more edits beyond this one, it's just me finishing up any final buisness.

I've also left my user boxes incase anyone likes them or thinks there cool.
The least you need to know
My favorite director is Akira Kurosawa. I also like Kon Ichikawa and Stanley Kubrick. I am a big supporter of the Criterion Collection. For articles, I mainly work with Japanese films.

Projects
I have worked on Fires on the Plain and The Burmese Harp as projects. Fires on the Plain is now a start article, and The Burmese Harp actualy has a plot section now.

Fires on the plain and The Burmese Harp are in better condition then they were before, though, they are not standouts. Now I'm organizing help for the Yojimbo article. If you are interested in helping go to the Yojimbo article, then go to the disscusion section. It is named 'Is anybody still working on this?'

Just recently I joined the wiki project primates (even though I dont know how to put my name on the participants list). And I am sad to note they have not rated the Gorilla article.

Fires on the Plain is in much better condition now that me and Dekkappai have worked on it. The reception section is the most improved thanks to Dekkappai for getting hold of some archival reviews. I have not given up interest in The Burmese Harp, and intend to make it start class soon.

I have also worked significantly on Onibaba. Still a stub, but better. I put a "reflist" tag on it. I also put a fairly good "Production" section. I have also recently included a small reception section.

I'va adopted Jigoku as a new project. I have put a pretty good "Production section" if some what trivial (it is still verifiable, however).

Onibaba has become a start class article.

Criterion newsletter
From the news letter
A brief bit, yet important bit was released, but it is best summed up by the Criterion newsletter:

Dear Criterion Collection Newsletter subscriber,

We’ve got some exciting news for this fall, and we wanted you to hear it first.

Our first Blu-ray discs are coming! We’ve picked a little over a dozen titles from the collection for Blu-ray treatment, and we’ll begin rolling them out in October. These new editions will feature glorious high-definition picture and sound, all the supplemental content of the DVD releases, and they will be priced to match our standard-def editions.
Here’s what’s in the pipeline:

*The Third Man
*Bottle Rocket
*Chungking Express
*The Man Who Fell to Earth
*The Last Emperor
*El Norte
*The 400 Blows
*Gimme Shelter
*The Complete Monterey Pop
*Contempt
*Walkabout
*For All Mankind
*The Wages of Fear

Alongside our DVD and Blu-ray box sets of The Last Emperor, we’ll also be putting out the theatrical version as a stand-alone release in both formats, priced at $39.95. Our Blu-ray release of Walkabout will be an all-new edition, featuring new supplements as well as a new transfer; we will also release an updated anamorphic DVD of Nicolas Roeg’s outback masterpiece at the same time.

Enjoy spring!

Coming soon
