School Life

The school's enrolment policy favours boys from Catholic Primary Schools, although students of other denominations fill the remaining roll space, in accordance with government funding legislation. The school's curriculum mainly mirrors that of state schools, except for the addition of Religious Education and its associated Retreats and Masses.

Prayer

Prayers are a part of daily school life at Rosmini. This generally includes the school prayer:

Lord,
Help us to be school of dignity, integrity and fairness
As we try to live out the maxims of Antonio Rosmini
To desire only, without limits, to please God and be just
To direct our thoughts and actions to the glory of God's church
To accept calmly what God wills for us
Through Christ our Lord
Amen

Facilities

The school's buildings include a large auditorium, purpose-built music, technology and science blocks, a large main block (containing classrooms, computer labs, the main office and the library), and several prefabs. The school also has a gymnasium and extensive sports fields.

As of 2008 a brand new gym block, passed the planning stage and construction for the facility began on Monday, 23rd June 2008.

Sport

Sport is a large part of life at Rosmini College. The College has found much success of recent years in sports.

Rugby

The school has a proud rugby tradition. The school has five old-boys who have been members of the All Blacks, including current All Blacks Rudi Wulf and Anthony Boric. In 2006, the school's 1st XV, coached by Mr. Mike Wallace, got to the final of the North Harbour Seconday Schools rugby championship. The current 1st XV team is coached by Mr. Barry, son of former All Black, Kevin Barry. The 2008 1st XV was unbeaten in the rounds. On Saturday, 16th August, they beat Orewa College by 30 - 0. They play Westlake Boys High School in the Final of the competition at North Harbour Stadium on Sunday, 24 August.

Soccer

In 2007, the College's 15th Grade Soccer team took the top prize, captained by Noor Lammoza and coached by Brian Strang (Head of English at the College). The 2008 team look to be doing the same.

Rosmini College's 1st XI has not won the championship since the 80s, but look like they may do so in 2008.

Both results of the 2008 season are questionable, however, as the season looks like it may be cancelled due to poor conditions of the fields.

2008 Beijing Olympics

Adreane Blincoe, a Rosmini Old Boy, competed in the 5000m Men's race. Craig Stanaway, also a Rosmini Old Boy, was part of the TVNZ Olymic Coverage team.

Other Information

Rosmini College's sister school Carmel College is situated nearby. Each year Rosmini College staff select two Head Boys (currently Samuel Page and Liam Thornley) and two Deputy Head Boys. Also two young men are selected to be the schools Sports Captains each year.
