Zim might not exactly be Adult Swim material, but somewhere in-between. Again, it really depends on your sense of humor. It's dark humor, but at the same time, totally ludicrous. Well, if you're not into it, I can't really twist your arm about it, but I think it's worth giving it a shot. Sometimes you need to taste something a few times before it really hits you. First time I saw [[Camp Lazlo]], I hated it. I said "That's Murray! That's [[Rocko]]! Wait, that's not Rocko! That sucks!". But when I sat down and watched an episode start-to-finish, I was quick to change my mind. Oh, and the thing about Zim is to ''not'' watch the pilot. [[Billy West]] did Zim in the pilot, but [[Richard Steven Horvitz]] did it for the rest of the series. Horvitz is by far (IMO, definitely biased here) a better voice actor. So much to go through, Chowder's loss at what we mean, Gorgy trying very hard to push the opposite of what we're trying to suggest for him to watch... Let's start from the top, Zim is gothic, yeah but little to do with anime in most respects. It's highly satricial but not our world and not our time either, more what our world is but exaggerating the insanity and inanity of modern culture in a way. The goth element was what drew me in, then Horvitz' acting then the jokes (not so oddly, it was mainly Gir and pigs), odd way to be pulled in I know but there's my way of getting to know and appreciate Zim. Gorgy, I love Horvitz' stuff but won't say he's better than West, who else would voice [[Ren and Stimpy]] I ask you? Chowder, the click you missed was the one of recognising the tone of Zim, basically it's that and more which in some way actually seems like it'd be more likely to put you off than pull you in. A question is, why did we switch to Zim from the Muppets which is the very thing which'd be more appealing? Chowder gets lost in our culture soup and we somehow went off elsewhere! It reminded me of a book I read some time ago. The name escapes me, but it was a "fantasy" novel, and had a picture of a [[troika]] on the cover, but it came down to having a large romantic storyline, which turned me off. So, when I saw the cover image of [[A Game of Thrones]], a man on a horse in the snow, it reminded me of that other novel, and totally turned me off.
