The Angolan Genet is a carnivore mammal related to civets and linsangs. It is one of eleven species of genet, and can be found in forests and moist savannah throughout southern Africa, from southern Zaire to northern Mozambique.
The Angolan Genet's coat is grey or reddish-grey, with brown spots, and with a ringed tail that is bushier than that of other genets. This species has a dark dorsal crest, which can be raised defensively like a mane when the animal is threatened.
