Lucy Hanna is an artist, photographer, and filmaker based in Seattle, Washington.
She is best known for her photographs of Mia Zapata, a Seattle singer that fronted the punk band The Gits.
Hanna's photographs of Zapata were featured prominently in the documentary film "The Gits" [1] and in many periodicals including SPIN, CMJ, Dazed & Confused, Rockrgirl, The Seattle Times, and Rolling Stone. As well as being featured in episodes of the television shows 48 Hours and Dateline NBC.
Hanna moved from Kansas to Seattle in 1989 and photographed the Seattle music scene during the 1990s.
She has attended the San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) studying under artist Tony Labat and filmmaker Jay Rosenblatt.
Hanna also appeared in Paul Westerberg's Paul Westerberg "Dyslexic Heart" music video from the motion picture Singles (1992 film).
