Robert Stephen Beecroft is the current United States Ambassador to Jordan. He received a bachelors degree from Brigham Young University and a law degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He practiced law in San Francisco, California before he joined the US Foreign Service in 1994.

He has served on assignments in the Middle East as well as in the State Department's Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs. Prior to being appointed Ambassador to Jordan, he was executive assistant to Condoleezza Rice.
