Vains of Jenna

Vains of Jenna are a Sleaze Rock band formed in Falkenberg, Sweden during January 2005. They have since relocated to Los Angeles, California.

History

Vains of Jenna was formed by four young people from Sweden, after two rival bands who shared common interests through an admiration of Mötley Crüe, Guns N' Roses, the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Hanoi Rocks and other rock n' roll bands broke up and the remaining members joined forces to create a band. At that time the youngest member of the band was only 18 years old. Together the group self-produced several demo's including a cover of the Rolling Stones' "Jumpin' Jack Flash" which they released via their website for free download.

A four track E.P. would soon follow, titled "Baby's Got A Secret", which would capture the attention of Stevie Rachelle the owner of popular hard rock website Metal Sludge. Stevie Rachelle became the band's manager, and after touring the United Kingdom the group relocated to California, United States. Vains of Jenna played their first US gig at the famous Whiskey A Go Go club in Hollywood. Their allegiance to BC Rich also earned considerable attention in the rock scene in America, and within little time, the band was widely known across the country.

The band then recorded some demo's, which were produced by former Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke[1]. A tour of the American east coast followed in July 2006. The East Coast tour was cut short as Bam Margera of the show Jackass signed the band to his "Filthy Note Records" record label[2]. Margera invited the band to his mansion to shoot a video for the song "Noone's Gonna Do It For You", which Margera produced himself.[3] and used "Don't Give A Damn" as the theme song to his upcoming series Bam's Unholy Union. The band featured in two episodes of the show.

Lit Up/Let Down the band's debut full-length album was released in stores on October 24 2006.

Since the band White Lion had to drop out of the Poison and Ratt summer 2007 tour, Vains Of Jenna filled in White Lion's spot on the tour, touring the U.S.A as a support act and then going on to feature in the Viva La Bands Tour along with Cradle of Filth, Gwar and CKY in the fall of 2007.

The bands latest release "Enemy In Me" is a track featured on the album Viva la Bands, Volume 2 and is also on the band's Myspace[4].

According to their official website, their last gig in the U.S. will be September 20 at the Whiskey A Go-Go. After that, they will return to their native Sweden after they record their second album with Brent Woods in Los Angeles.
