I'm pleased to meet you, Teenly. I'll tell you how I changed the way my username looks if you tell me how you figured out that a hatful of notes that are not E,B,Db,F or Ab is the dominant thirteenth of G minor. You'll have to click on the word "edit" at the far right of the line that begins Hi Fenneck and read my answer in the edit window or it won't make sense.

Look up the page at the end of your note to me. First I cut and paste everything that's AFTER "It was just Fenneck before." and BEFORE the time, like this:

The part that says User talk:Teenly|talk just makes the (talk) link after your user name. We want to keep that so we won't mess with it. What we want to change is the first part, which says User:Teenly|Teenly. See the vertical line in the middle? What's BEFORE the vertical line (User:Teenly) is the title of the page you want to link to. (User:Teenly is the name of your user page.) The part AFTER the vertical line is what you actually see on the screen:

If you click on "What you actually see" you'll go to your user page. We didn't copy the date because it was yesterday's date. To get the right date, put five tildes (instead of four) at the end like this:

The tildes turned into the date but I see how you do it. Here's how I figured out the thirteenth chord. The hatful of notes that are not E,B,Db,F or Ab are C,D,Eb,Gb,G,A,Bb. There is a diminished seventh chord C,Eb,Gb,A. A major dominant thirteenth doesn't have a diminished seventh chord in it so there must be a minor ninth. The diminished seventh has to be the third, fifth, seventh and minor ninth but you can't tell which note is which. The three notes left over have to be the root, eleventh and thirteenth of the thirteenth chord. That is the same as root, fourth and sixth which is a second inversion triad. The fifth of the triad is the root of the thirteenth chord. It is a major triad if there is a major thirteenth and a minor triad if there is a minor thirteenth. The left over notes are D G Bb. That is a minor triad so the thirteenth is minor. The fifth of the triad is D so the root of the thirteenth chord is D. That makes it the dominant thirteenth of G minor D,F#,A,C,Eb,G,Bb. It would be a rare child indeed who was capable of reasoning on such a high level! It's OK because I just turned eight. I don't feel like a little girl any more. Now I am big enough to play octaves! I can even reach the ninths in the A major Polonaise where you put your thumb across two notes. You must be an exceptionally fine player, Teenly. I was ten before I could play Feux Follets. May I make a suggestion? I think it's a good idea not to tell any more about yourself than you really have to on Wikipedia. If it's all right with you, I'd like to delete the part of our conversation that tells how old you are. It will still be in my talk page history, but unless I start behaving very badly there's no special reason why anyone would want to look there. If you need help with anything, I would be glad to help you with it; but you made some good improvements to the wording of the Judith Barsi article, and if you realize your note on the Petrushka chord page sounds like baby talk, you should be able to make it better without my help. If you make an honest try at fixing it up by yourself, I'll help you with it if it still sounds like baby talk. You could copy the whole note to Notepad (or whatever you like to use for writing notes) on your desktop and take as long as you want to fix it, then copy it back. Take your time. I found a signature I liked and I changed some things so I liked it better. Then I made most of the markup into HTML. I wish I could have a "talk" thingy but then it's too long for the signature box. I'm glad you're feeling better. Before when I played the piano I only had to listen and I could hear the music because my hands played whatever I wanted to hear. They did it all by themselves, like magic. But now the magic does not work. Not even with easy pieces. Maybe I can not say it very well, but do you know what I mean, Fenneck? I'm not sure, Teenly. Do you mean you just imagine the sound and whatever you imagine your hands play without you having to think about it? Sometimes when I am playing my very best, it feels as though I am listening to someone else playing, and someone else plays exactly the way I like. Is that anything like what you mean? It is hard to talk about it Fenneck. It is not I imagine the music first and then I play it. It is more I listen listen listen and there is music like when it rains, not on purpose. It is not like playing a cd or something. A cd is like a picture of rain and playing is like it is raining. That is how I always play when I am playing. Most students believe that when they can play a piece through from memory, it's time to move on to the next piece. (By the way, do you know "Jardins sous la pluie"?) It's a good start, Teenly. I would rather not change anything until you move it into article space, so it will be your article. Before you move it, you should do three things:

• Make wikilinks to all the people and places that have articles. For people who don't have articles you can give their dates if you know them. Some people would make redlinks to people like Kienzl, but that's up to you.
• I think you should leave out the part about Jensen trying to use Wagner's harmonic ideas, even though I think it's true, unless you can find a good source for a footnote. Otherwise it's Original Research.
• Put a References section at the end for the two books. Look at Wikipedia:Citing sources in the places where it says "General Reference" to find out how.

Yes they are, Fenneck. My first piano teacher died when I was four and maybe he liked me because he gave me all of his music and books. I did what you said and then I put the article in the encyclopedia. I know it does not sound grown up. I hope you will fix it and make it better so it won't get deleted. I started copy editing your Jensen article but I didn't have the heart to change the words you worked so hard on. Your writing is much better than it was just a couple of months ago, and I don't see any reason why anyone would want to delete your article. Why don't we just leave it the way you wrote it so you can admire it for awhile? If somebody else comes along and makes a hash of it, then I'll fix it up. I made links (on the bottom left of your article) to the Jensen articles on the German, Japanese and Russian Wikipedias. I think they are the only ones with articles about Jensen. Thanks Fenneck. I can't believe that if somebody over in Russia or Japan or Germany clicks on English they will see my article! I am still not strong to practice a lot, that is why I had time to work on the article. When I was too sick to play the piano I must have read a hundred books. When I was on German Wikipedia setting up the interwiki link to your Jensen article, I noticed you have some edits over there too. You are quite the girl for surprises, so I won't be surprised if you learn to write very well indeed.
