Skytone

Skytone is an independent Canadian pop/rock band formed in Ottawa, Ontario in 2003. Rodney Doddridge is on lead guitar and vocals. He is joined by brother Darius Doddridge on bass and vocals and brother-in-law Sheldon Dodd on drums. Their debut album "Echoes In All Directions" was released on Wally Salem's Ottawa-based label The Beautiful Music in 2006.

Their songs, including "Lindbergh", "The New York Song" and "Just a Little Attention" have proven popular on campus radio charts. They have also appeared on CBC Radio 3. In the spring of 2008, Skytone won the regional final of the Canadian Radio Star National Songwriting Competition for the song "String of Pearls".

Their music, although heavily influenced by The Beatles, has often been compared with many other bands including Sloan (band), Badfinger, Coldplay and The Wondermints.

As of early 2009, they are working on their next album, tentatively titled Light and Shade.
