Rob and Jill Tyler [[adopt]] two children, Catherine and Eric. Eric is a sweet and timid child, whereas Catherine at times can come across as being the same, but often displays outbursts of violent rage for no apparent reason, affecting her behavior and interaction with others. Some of the violent acts include smashing her brother's head on the basement floor; stabbing her adoptive father while he sleeps; stabbing the family dog with a needle, and lying to her parents that the dog bit her; and attacking a classmate with a shard of glass.

The film was made at Mary Hill Elementary school.

Child of Rage was a CBS Television movie made in 1992 starring Ashley Peldon and Mel Harris. The film is based on a true story of a little girl who was sexually abused.
