It is named after the Boulevard de la Tour-Maubourg, which commemorates Marquis Victor de Fay de la Tour-Maubourg (1768-1850), who emigrated during the French Revolution, but returned to France to become a General under Napoleon I and Minister for War after the Restoration. He was also the Governor of Les Invalides from 1821 to 1830.
