The Hunting Party is a 1971 American western film directed by Don Medford and starring Oliver Reed, Gene Hackman, and Candice Bergen.
Plot
Frank Calder (Oliver Reed) kidnaps a Brandt Ruger's(Gene Hackman)wife Melissa Ruger(Candice Bergen). He and his bandits must survive in the desert with little food and water.Melissa must teach Frank how to read. The rich man kills Frank and Melissa at the end.Frank and Melissa were in love.They were setting out to California,when Frank said,"There are more trees,more orchards there than probably anywhere else."They were reminiscing about the grapes,plums and big apples in California.
