Michael Husbands (born 13 November 1985) is an English professional footballer. He is of Saint Lucian descent and was at one point approached to play for the Saint Lucia national team.

Club career

Husbands, a forward, began his career at Aston Villa, where he was a member of their FA Youth Cup winning team of 2002. He joined Hereford United on loan in December 2002, but only made five substitute appearances over his five months at Edgar Street.

He was allowed to join Southend United in July 2003, where he spent two years but played only 16 games due to serious groin injury. In August 2005 he joined Bristol Rovers for a short spell on a non-contract basis[1] before moving on to Walsall the next month[2] and then Port Vale in October 2005.

Husbands made 47 league appearances for the Valiants, though the overwhelming majority of these came from the bench. The highlight of his time at Vale Park was a rare start on 26 September 2006 against Nottingham Forest, he scored within 14 seconds[3] - the fastest goal of that season.
