Founded in 1988, Pioneer's early projects helped feed a growing taste for scientific broadcasting in a period of tele-media expansion. In the 90’s it saught to push boundaries; documenting extreme weather in series such as Raging Planet and developing the use of new special effects used in series such as In The Womb. The new century saw the company continue to progress, creating pure CGI films such as Journey to the Edge of the Universe and combining life-like CGI into dramas and drama-docs as in The Unsinkable Titanic and Hindenburg. Today, Pioneer continues to use cutting edge filming and effects techniques to maintain a innovative approach towards television, evident in programmes such as Extraordinary Animals in the Womb and Catastrophe.
