Exultant (2004) is the second novel of Stephen Baxter's "Destiny's Children" series.
Template:Spoiler The book is set in Baxter's "Xeelee" universe, twenty-five thousand years in the future, and centres around an attempt to finish a 20,000-year-old military campaign against humanity's ancient aggressors, the Xeelee. Much of the book is written as large sections of prose explaining theoretical exotic-matter physics and the other science used by characters, and the ideas presented in the first novel in the series are seen only in passing. The plot includes a "tour" of the solar system, rife with references to other events (other books set in the same universe).
