Windows OneCare is a computer security service Microsoft plans to offer in 2005 for its Windows operating system.

OneCare entered a beta state in summer 2005. A website has been started for it at http://beta.windowsonecare.com/. OneCare features its own anti-virus software, a backup utility, and a software firewall. It adds an icon to the system tray that tells the user at a glance the status of the system's health. Green represents an all-clear, yellow means that something is amiss but probably does not require immediate attention (e.g. backup is disabled because there is no CD burner plugged in), and red alerts to a critical state that should be remedied right away to avoid future problems (e.g. unable to get new virus definitions from the Internet).
