De Bakke is an area in the town of Mossel Bay famed for its beautiful views, excellent camping and safe swimming.
The name appears to have Dutch/Afrikaans origins meaning "pots" and may refer to the long history of this area being enjoyed as a holiday and picnic destination as far back as the 19th century.
Mosselbay is the base chosen by the Paraguayan national football contingent for their 2010 FIFA World Cup campaign.
