BingoLotto is a hybrid lottery bingo style game based on the Swedish version of the same name, Bingolotto.[1] Each week viewers with a valid gamecard will have 1 in 9.5 chance of winning, however unlike the national lottery prizes will be life-enhancing, rather than life-changing, with prizes varying from more gamecards to the maximum cash prize of £100,000.[2] The show will be shown on all three major platforms, making it available in 21 million homes.[3]
The game
Card Spins
Every Gamecard has a serial number that is unique to that card. During each show numbers will spin on screen revealing numbers similar to the gamecard serial numbers. Those who having matching numbers receive prizes from digital cameras to cars
Bingo Games
There are 3 Bingo games that take place in BingoLotto and these are the red, yellow and blue "cards" that form part of each BingoLotto Gamecard. Like traditional Bingo, players at home (and in the studio) will tick off the numbers as they are read out. If you get 4 corners or a line, you could win. This is done by ringing through to the studio.
Commercial Presentations
Throughout the game viewers will be given the opportunity to purchase items that are similar to the prizes being given away during the game. It is currently unknown if this will be in a bid.tv manner or if it will be similar to that of television commercials .[4]
Beneficiaries
Like most lotteries Bingolotto donates some of its proceedings to charity. At least 20% from the sale of the £2 BingoLotto cards to two charities, namely the CCPR and the NCVO.[2]
CCPR
CCPR is the national alliance of governing and representative bodies of sport and recreation.
NCVO
The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) is the umbrella body for the voluntary sector in England. NCVO works to support the voluntary sector and to create an environment in which voluntary organisations can flourish.
