Boardwalk Empire is an upcoming American television series from HBO. It is set in Atlantic City, New Jersey during Prohibition era. It was created by Emmy-winning writer/producer Terence Winter of The Sopranos. Its pilot episode was directed by Martin Scorsese. On September 1, 2009, HBO picked up the series for an additional 11 episodes, making the first season 12 episodes long including the pilot.[1] It is expected that the series will debut in late 2010.
