Silent Descent

Silent Descent is a seven-piece trance-metal band from Dartford, England.

Combining metal with trance and synth, they are viewed by many as an innovative band. Their sound can be described as a mixture of melodic death metal and trance sounds.

In 2007 the band entered the Radio global unsigned band awards, winning the "Symphonic rock or Metal" category, and selected by Judges to receive the "Supreme Silver" award (4th overall in the contest).[1] The following year the band won the Kerrang!/MCN Unsigned Live competition .[2] In August 2008, Silent Descent were featured in metal and alternative music magazine Metal Hammer who proclaimed them "...the trance metal juggernaught the world has been waiting for."

The band performed at the Bloodstock Open Air music festival on 17 August 2008.[3]

On Thursday 11 June 2009, Silent Descent headlined the End Tent at the legendary Donington Park's annual Download festival as part of it's "Boardie Takeover night!". Four bands, three DJ's, two singers, a stand-up comedian and a burlesque dancer - all members of the Download Festival Forums - performed to a full house.[4]
