Stephen Lemont Allen (born May 29, 1974), primarily known by his stage name Silver Surfer, is an American record producer, rapper, record executive, and actor. He is the founder and current CEO of Flamingo Park Music Group and a co-owner and artist of Goon City Records and 118th & Blanding Records, as well as a member of a production group Beastmode Beatmakerz also having produced albums for and overseeing the careers of many rappers signed to record labels like FFJB Music, GrownFolk, Something Epic, Madhouse, 50/50 Music and Rebel Hearted Entertainment, such as Mr. Al Pete, Alias and his brother Venom. As a producer he is credited as a key figure in the popularization of South East Street Hop, a style of rap music characterized as synthesizer-based with slow basslines, heavy beats and samples.

Silver Surfer began his career in music as a member of the Deadly Knights and he later found fame with the influential rap group The Famili with Mr. Al Pete and Alias which popularized the use of explicit lyrics in rap to detail topics from the streets to the clubs. In 2001, he left the Deadly Knights to found his own label, Flamingo Park Music Group, producing a compilation album, Spaceflight, in 2002, and releasing his long-awaited solo debut album titled Masterpiece Theater, in 2009.

Surfer is known for his production ability, and for helping many underground rappers become popular, such as Picasso, Stillwater, L.Blaze, Franchise, Venom, Z-Fly, Mr. Al Pete and Dr. Sam Beckett, producing beats for them. He is focused on producing for other artists and rarely producing for himself. The only productions he made for himself were Masterpiece Theater and Masterpiece Theater: Encre, two of the most influental and essential hip hop albums of all time.

History

In 1984, silver surfer was introduced to Hip-hop by his mother Gloria Allen. My love for music grew stronger when I wrote my first song back in 1985 called "Turkey On The Table". In my ninth grade year of high school...that song earn me an award 4 years in a row. Over the years that went by...I have made over 300 beats and more. In 1995, I started rapping my own lyrics to my own music and by the time the year 2001 came, I created a recording studio of my own called "The Solar System Sound Lab" and recorded my first two songs "Setitoff" & "The Grunt". Now in 2006, the future is looking good because, I have two of my own record labels, "F.P.M.G.(Flamingo Park Music Group)" & "118 and Blanding Records". I also have a production company with my right hand man Exclusive A/K/A The Beatbox Don called "Music For The Soul, Inc.". So holla back at us and our A&R Staff if you're looking for great producers or if you want us to listen to your demos. Right now...we're producers for hire.
