It's as simple and beautiful as the [[Eureka Flag]], without all the baggage (is it a Communist symbol of revolution, or a Neo-Nazi symbol of racism?). We have the Southern Cross, and the colours of the old flag, without the imperial nonsense of being a defaced British ensign. There's nothing there to represent the Aborigines, true, but when was the last time an actual Aboriginal person insisted on representation on the national flag? The only thing I've heard on the subject is the creator of the [[Aboriginal flag]] asking that it not be used in a national context. |
