MuxCo (North Wales), as the name suggests is the name of the DAB multiplex operator for North Wales. It serves and area similar to the analogue area served by Heart North Wales and Heart Cymru (formerly Coast 96.3 & Champion FM). It is one of the rare licences in which it uses two frequencies. Block 10D serves the North Western parts (formerly the Champion FM area) with Block 12D serving the Colwyn Bay analogue area (Formely Coast 96.3).

It is a consortium made up of two companies - Town & Country Broadcasting owning 70% with transmitter company National Grid Wireless owning the other 30%.

The DAB licence was advertised by Ofcom on February 7th 2007. At the close on May 9th 2007, the reguator had received two applications. One by MuxCo (Wrexham & Cheshire), the other from Now Digital, a wholly-owned subsidary of GCmap Media PLC (at the time). On September 6th 2007, it was announced that MuxCo (Wrexham & Cheshire) had won the licence.

Only two transmitters are confirmed as carrying the platform initially; Moel-Y-Parc, & Great Ormes Head. As required, the two BBC regional service have to be carried on this platform.
