There have been a rash of recent news articles discussing the "rare udambara flower, which blooms only once every 3000 years" - as far as I have been able to tell, this qualifies as an "urban legend", and the photographs of this "flower" are all photographs of [[lacewing]] eggs. I suspect it is only a matter of time before some well-meaning editor attempts to insert some of this into this Wikipedia article, so consider this a heads-up that there are NO RELIABLE SOURCES for the claims, nor the photos. At first she thought the barely-there stems were worm eggs, however, the next day she discovered that the stems had grown 18 white tiny flowers on top and smelled "fragrant"."

There have been a rash of recent news articles discussing the "rare udambara flower, which blooms only once every 3000 years" - as far as I have been able to tell, this qualifies as an "urban legend", and the photographs of this "flower" are all photographs of lacewing eggs. I suspect it is only a matter of time before some well-meaning editor attempts to insert some of this into this Wikipedia article, so consider this a heads-up that there are NO RELIABLE SOURCES for the claims, nor the photos.
