Moreover, according to the Albanian law, the installment and management of roadsigns, in local roads, is under municipal jurisdiction. Vasil Bollano (Albanian: Vasil Bollano [Βασίλης Μπολάνος, Vasilis Bolanos] Error: {{Lang-xx}}: text has italic markup (help)) [1] is an Albanian national of Greek ethnicity, currently serving as the mayor of Himara municipality, southwest Albania[2].

Additionally, Vasil Bollano is the president of Omonoia, which represents the rights of Albania's Greek minority, as well as member of the Unity for Human Rights Party.

On 21 April 2009 he was sentenced to 6 months in prison and a fine of 3800 euros for removing road signs in the municipality.[3] The decision is currently under appeal.
