I need to know how the cleanup template includes what appears to be an external link (to edit the article it is on) without displaying that external link icon.

{{cleanup}}

Thankyou for your help.

:It contains a link, in the format <code><nowiki>[{{fullurl:{{FULLPAGENAME}}|action=edit}}</nowiki></code>. This creates a URL such as http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:WCarter&action=edit - notice the 'action=edit' part. Clicking that URL will edit this page.
:It uses the parser function "fullurl" - see [[mw:Help:Magic_words#URL_data]].
:Does that give you enough information? <small><span style="border: 1px solid; background-color:darkblue;">[[User:Chzz|'''<span style="background-color:darkblue; color:#FFFFFF"> &nbsp;Chzz&nbsp;</span>''']][[User talk:Chzz|<span style="color:#00008B; background-color:yellow; border: 0px solid; ">&nbsp;►&nbsp;</span>]]</span></small> 06:38, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Thankyou, that much I had figured out, but the template's version of that link has no external link icon. I am trying to understand how this was accomplished, and unfortunately I found slogging through meta-template code somewhat confusing.
:Use the [[CSS]] class "plainlinks". Example: <div class="plainlinks">[http://www.example.com]</div>&mdash;[[User:C45207|C45207]] &#124; [[User_talk:C45207|Talk]] 06:52, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Thankyou!
