James William Anderson III (born November 1, 1937 in Columbia, South Carolina) is an American country music singer and songwriter, nicknamed "Whisperin' Bill." Arguably his biggest hit was the 1963 single "Still."

In 1975, Bill Anderson was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. In 2001, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

He has also served as a television game show host, emceeing The Better Sex on ABC (as a co-host with Sarah Purcell) and Fandango, which aired on The Nashville Network. He also co-produced the TNN talent show You Can Be a Star! and occasionally appeared on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live.
