Barry Madlener (born January 6, 1969) is a Dutch politician of the Party for Freedom, and since July 14, 2009 Chair of the Parliamentary Party PVV in the European Parliament. He was from November 30, 2006 until July 14, 2009 a Member of the House of Representatives.
Biography
Early life
Madlener grow up in Oostvoorne. After he gained his diploma, he followed a training broking. He was hereafter considerable time as a Estate agent. On March 14, 2002 he was installed as a member of the municipality Council of Rotterdam for Livable Rotterdam. He had been also involved in the establishment of the Livable Netherlands, where he submitted an application at Kay van der Linde.
Livable Rotterdam
At the municipality Council elections in 2002, Madlener stood as number 11 on the list of Livable Rotterdam, the local party which leader Pim Fortuyn, who was assassinated later that year. Madlener was considered as a confidant of Pim Fortuyn.
The party gained 17 seats at these historical elections on March 6, 2002. He got the physical infrastructure of the city in its portfolio. In that quality he became an enthusiastic lawsuit deliveryman for the construction of a campus at the era sparrow university.
As a member of the municipality Council in Rotterdam for Livable Rotterdam he experienced himself also for a prohibition on carrying Veil municipality civil servants. He put two motions on: for the prohibition on carrying religious expressions for civil servants, and same a motion for the education. Also he stated that at schools Muslim girls should be obliged to play sports with the boys.
