The School is divided into two campuses:

* The primary section(Carmel Primary School acronym: CPS) of the school is located at 19,Deshapriya Park Road South,Kolkata-700026,and
* The higher section(Carmel High School acronym: CHS) of the school is located at 41,Gariahat Road South,Kolkata-700031.

Classes between nursery and class four are conducted in the junior section,while classes between five and twelve are conducted at the high school campus.

The School hours are as follows:

Lower and Upper KG : 07.45 a.m - 11.15 a.m
Classes I-IV : 11.45 a.m - 04.15 p.m
Classes V-XII : 08.40 a.m - 03.15 p.m

Carmel Convent(Primary and High) School is an all-girl Catholic institution located in Kolkata,India.It is one the most prestigious schools in Kolkata.The School aims at the education of the Catholic community around and extends its service to members of other communities to the extent possible.The School stands for academic excellence,development of skills and character formation based on the love of God and the service of people as modelled on Jesus Christ,with a view to training citizens remarkable for an all-round development and recommitment to God and Country.


The School is a Christian School established and administered by the Apostolic Carmel Education Society of West Bengal in the Roman Catholic Catholic Church.The School is under the religious jurisdiction of the Roman Catholic Bishop in Kolkata.


The School is English Medium with Bengali and Hindi taught as Vernaculars.


HISTORY


On the 1st April,1956 Carmel School,then known as St.Mary's Carmel School,was started at 19,Deshapriya Park Road,Kolkata-26.It began as a primary school consisting of the Upper and Lower Kindergarten,and Classes I-IV with English and Bengali as medium of instruction.The need for more classrooms necessitated expansion and classes V upwards were shifted to 41,Gariahat Road South.In 1969 the the School was recognised as a Higher Secondary School with two streams : Humanities and Science.It is now known as Carmel High School.In 1970 the first batch of Higher Secondary students was sent up.
